Bio of Irene Lane
Irene Lane, an information technology consultant turned eco-conscious travel mom, is the Founder & President of Greenloons. Previously, Irene was in the corporate world for 12 years providing business process improvement recommendations, leading software implementations and solving customer service challenges for Fortune 500 companies, including eBay, as well as domestic and international government agencies. She also holds an MBA in International Finance.
After successfully being treated for breast cancer in 2009, she decided to fulfill a lifelong dream to give back by first completing her Certificate in Sustainable Tourism Management and then follow her passion for planning exotic, inspirational and responsible family vacations. She was shocked and disturbed by the amount of misinformation and lack of accountability surrounding the ecotourism industry and decided to make a change for the better.
She launched Greenloons.com in order to provide clear and comprehensive information about accredited ecotours as well as provide an easy booking process and community environment for like-minded environmental enthusiasts and eco-conscious travelers. The website is truly a testament to Irene’s love of culture, nature, wildlife and the environment.
Greenloons.com currently partners with the Rainforest Alliance and ClimateCare in order to further promote best management practices in sustainable tourism and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
